Português é o segundo idioma mais usado no Twitter

Um estudo desenvolvido pelo TextWise Semantic Signatures mostrou que o português é o segundo idioma mais frequente no Twitter, atrás apenas do inglês.
Em uma amostra de 8,9 milhões de tweets, o estudo identificou que 11% seria escrito em português – contra 61% em inglês. Na sequencia, apenas 6% seria em japonês, e outros 4% em espanhol – o Twitter já possui versões em espanhol e japonês, diferentemente do português, que ainda não tem sua versão oficial.
Outros dados interessantes também foram identificados na amostra, como o fato de que 31% dos tweets eram respostas a outros usuários, 6% eram retweets, e 22% continham links.
